Mart'nália & Paulinho Moska

The Jazz Cafe, NW1 7PG , [Venue Details]

Two MPB greats combine for a unique live show, Mart’nália & Paulinho Moska. Daughter of iconic Brazilian samba and MPB singer Martinho da Vila, Mart’nália has forged her own musical path over the last 30 years, which culminated in a prestigious Latin Grammy award.

A lesser artist may have remained in her father’s shadow, but Mart’nália has become a global star in her own right, working with legends like Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia in the process.

Joining her is Paulinho Moska, one of the most influential MPB artists to contribute to the fusion of MPB with pop music in the 90s. Taught the guitar at age 13 by by André Abujamra of the Brazilian band Karnak, he since blossomed into a singer-songwriter respected on a national and international stage for his intimate, stripped back songwriting.

We can’t wait to welcome this icon of Brazilian samba and percussion, and legendary MPB guitarist and singer to our stage this bank holiday Sunday as they share works from both of their famed catalogues.
